Carpetbagger is a Culture in After the End. It's part of the South-Anglo Culture group.
The Carpetbagger culture has a chance to appear in counties with a Dixie, Southron, Gulfard or Appalachian culture if they are ruled by a Yankee, Gothamite, Hudsonian or Delawarean character.
The term "Carpetbagger" has a long and ancient history. It rose to prominence immediately after the ending of the "American Civil War," a war so long forgotten by most, excluding Americanists who believe it to be caused by misguided men who turned their back on the Founders and their wishes. After this war, people from the northern lands of America moved into the Deep South and settled in the region. The native "Dixie" population took to derogatorily calling these men and women "Carpetbaggers" after their luggage that was conveniently made of carpet fabric. The term has faded in use over the centuries; however, the re-emergence of "Yankees" in the Deep South may lead to a return of the word to describe them and their subjects.
